BUNNELL, Fla. – Dispatchers with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office found early Thursday that AT&T users were unable to hear them after calling 911, according to a news release.
The issue was resolved within several hours, however. Christina Mortimer, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office director of communications, said that the quick resoluion was thanks to 911 dispatchers who went above and beyond to get the system back online.

“I would like to commend the dispatchers working this morning who were able to identify the issue being isolated to AT&T,” Mortimer said in a statement. “Once they realized a caller was not able to hear them on 9-1-1, they did their own test calls testing several providers.”

Before the resolution, AT&T users in Flagler County who had an emergency were advised they could reach the call center in one of the following ways:
- Send texts to 911 and communicate with a dispatcher for emergency assistance.
- Call the sheriff’s office’s non-emergency number at 386-313-4911, immediately state you have an emergency and provide your location and emergency need.
The 911 system is owned and managed by Flagler County government, the sheriff’s office said.
