MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A person was found shot to death Friday at a Marion County shopping plaza, according to sheriff’s officials.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said around 2 p.m. that shots were fired at a BP gas station and a plaza near Marion Oaks Boulevard and Marion Oaks Drive.
Sheriff’s officials identified the victim as Milagros Guzman Lopez, 47.
Deputies said witnesses saw the gunman run from the scene, but no other information has been released.
The sheriff’s office believes the shooting was an isolated incident. Detectives say they are still following up on leads and talking to witnesses.
