LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Following a shooting late last year that left a man dead in Leesburg, the man accused of killing him and a woman accused of evidence tampering have been indicted in the Fifth Judicial Circuit.

Kevin Harrison, 20, and his sister Destiny Pendleton, 22, have been indicted on their respective charges stemming from the Dec. 27, 2023, shooting death of Lekendre Hall, 37, according to a news release Thursday from the office of State Attorney William “Bill” Gladson.

Harrison was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in Hall’s death, the release states.

Hall was pronounced dead at a hospital after being located on the ground that evening by officers responding to the 1900 block of W. Main Street.

Police said that Harrison was the shooter after officers interviewed multiple witnesses and executed a search warrant where the shooting occurred, according to the department. Harrison turned himself in on Dec. 29.

Pendleton was indicted on charges of accessory after the fact and evidence tampering in connection with Hall’s death, according to the release.

Her arrest occurred the day of the shooting, with officers reporting she ran away and attempted to jump a fence upon being ordered to show her hands, falling on the other side where she remained until police reached her.

Investigators said they found a lump in her pocket during a police patdown which she said were shell casings from the shooting, yet they were missing when an officer donned gloves to later retrieve them.

Pendleton allegedly denied ever having the shell casings, that is until a female officer was called over to help locate them; according to police, Pendleton then removed three shell casings from her privates and handed them over, with an X-ray later revealing a fourth shell casing that was still inside of her and soon removed.

“The Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office emphasizes its commitment to seeking justice in this case. The charges brought against Kevin Harrison and Destiny Pendleton reflect the serious nature of their alleged involvement in the tragic death of Lekendre Hall,” the news release states. “As the case moves forward, our office will continue to work diligently to bring this case to a just resolution.”
