ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested in Orange County about two weeks after a swarm of law enforcement searched for him near Altamonte Springs, according to Eatonville police.

Stacy Kenon, 30, was arrested without incident around 6:17 p.m. Wednesday and taken to the Orange County jail, police said.

Kenon is the subject of a domestic violence investigation that picked up the evening of Jan. 2, when the Eatonville Police Department responded to a report of gunfire in the area of South Calhoun Avenue and Lemon Street. Arriving officers located a female who had suffered injuries “consistent with the crime of DV/Battery,” according to documentation that identifies the suspect as the victim’s boyfriend of 10 years.

The affidavit for Kenon’s arrest warrant describes investigators’ conversation with the victim, who told police that an argument Kenon started in a parked vehicle led to him punching her repeatedly in the side of the face, then choking her with both hands.

The victim said she couldn’t breathe in that moment, soon breaking away and leaving the vehicle before Kenon stepped out, pointed a handgun at her and allegedly fired one shot. She said this made her fear for her life, prompting her to run away and call police, the affidavit states.

Detectives soon secured that warrant for Kenon’s arrest. He now faces charges of battery, battery by strangulation, attempted felony murder and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, records show.

He’s being held without bond, police said.
