OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Two men were arrested following a fatal shooting in Osceola County over the weekend, the sheriff’s office announced on Tuesday.
Deputies said they responded to a home along Doncaster Court in Kissimmee on Sunday around 1 a.m. after receiving reports about the shooting.
According to the release, when detectives arrived, they found 31-year-old Steven Perez on the ground “with gunshot wounds,” though he died at the scene.
Deputies said that after an investigation, two shooting suspects were identified and arrested over their involvement in the incident.

Those two men — Maximo Mercado, 41, and Liam Nicholson, 28 — were taken into custody on Monday and face the following charges:
- Liam Nicholson
- Second-Degree Murder
- Accessory After the Fact
- Discharging Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling
- Tampering with Evidence
- Battery
- Maximo Mercado, Jr.
- Second-Degree Murder
- Discharging Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling
- Tampering with Evidence
