ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested Thursday on allegations of robbing an Orange County bank.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Joao Carlos Do Rego, 43, was arrested on charges of robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm and grand theft.

In an online post earlier this week, the sheriff’s office said a man walked into the Truist Bank along South John Young Parkway in the Hunter’s Creek area around 10:30 a.m., flashed a weapon and showed the teller a note on his phone demanding money.
Do Rego was arrested the next day.
“This is a prime example of how well Central Florida Crimeline works when we all work together,” the sheriff’s office said.
