VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 25-year-old man faces charges after he fled during an attempted traffic stop and led deputies on a two-county pursuit with two young children in the back seat of his vehicle, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration on Sunday near State Road 415 and Howland Boulevard in Volusia County.
According to a news release, the driver – later identified as Timothy Breedlove of Altamonte Springs – “sped up and began weaving through traffic,” heading north on State Road 415 to State Road 44 to Interstate 4.
Deputies said that after 38 miles and with the help of a stop stick, Breedlove pulled over in Sanford, where he was taken into custody.
According to the release, two young children were in the back seat during the incident. They were “upset” but uninjured.

The children’s mother, who was in the passenger seat, told deputies she asked Breedlove to “stop and think about the children’s safety.”
Breedlove faces charges of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, two counts of aggravated child abuse, three counts of false imprisonment, and driving with a suspended license.
He was also cited for fleeing, running a red light, expired vehicle registration and driving on a suspended license., deputies said.
