‘Demon:’ Winter Park church vandalized with graffiti, swastikas

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A church in Winter Park was vandalized on Wednesday morning, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they responded to the St. Richard’s Episcopal Church around 9:40 a.m. after receiving reports about the vandalism.

Upon arrival, they learned that the bathroom doors had been written on with a Sharpie around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies added.

However, the church discovered several other “graffiti marks” on doors, signs and a statue on Wednesday morning, an offense report shows.

As a result, church officials told investigators that the vandalism possibly happened between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the report says.

Several of the marks involved poorly drawn swastikas, and one door had the word “demon” written on it, according to investigators.

In addition, one sign had the word “kill” written on it, deputies said.

In total, the report states that the damage would cost the church around $300 to fix.
