OCALA, Fla. – Two people were killed and another was injured Tuesday night in a fiery crash in Ocala, according to the police department.
In a news release, Ocala police said the agency received a call about the crash around 8:23 p.m., near the 1500 block of Southeast 36th Avenue.

Police added that the crash involved a white Mazda Miata and a gray Mercedes-Benz SUV.
Two people in the car — a man and a woman — died at the scene, with the man having been ejected from the car, the news release shows.
Meanwhile, the SUV driver — whom police said was a juvenile — was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to investigators.
The roadway did not reopen until late Wednesday morning due to the crash investigation.
In an update Wednesday afternoon on social media, the police department asked anyone in the area of the incident who may have witnessed it or recorded it on home surveillance to come forward. Even if you were just nearby and noticed “any instances of erratic driving,” the post states investigators would still want to hear from you.
