MELBOURNE, Fla. – A weekend of dancing, delicious food and delightful memories await you at this year’s Saint Katherine Greek Festival in Melbourne.

The festival kicks off Friday and runs through Sunday for a fun celebration of Greek culture.

You’ll be able to check out traditional folk dances performed by multiple groups of various ages.

Of course, there will be lots and lots to eat while you’re at the festival.

“The most popular and delicious of Grecian baked goods. With recipes handed down for generations, it’s no wonder why festival guests wait in line for them. Historically our baked goods sell out, so make sure to get them while you can,” the event’s website reads.

Here are some of the food items you can enjoy this weekend, from entrees to desserts:

  • Traditional Pastitsio: Deep layers of tubular pasta, aromatically-seasoned ground beef and cheese, topped with a creamy and decadent bechamel and baked to a golden-brown finish. Served with Greek-style Green Beans.
  • Greek-style Chicken: Marinated with garlic, lemon juice, herbs and lashings of olive oil, our chicken is slow-roasted to tenderness. Served with Greek-style Rice Pilaf & Green Beans.
  • Spanakopita: Layers of flaky phyllo dough wrap a blend of spinach, onions, feta cheese and herbs.
  • Dolmathes: Four grape leaves from the vine stuffed with rice and spices.
  • Flamed Saganaki: Fried and flamed cheese appetizer with Greek brandy and finished with lemon juice.
  • Baklava: A piece of Greece’s traditional classic favorite, made with layers of walnuts, cinnamon and sugar between richly buttered phyllo dough, smothered with thick, sweet syrup.
  • Koulourakia: A lightly sweetened, hand-twisted butter cookie with a hint of vanilla & a light egg glaze. A staple in all Greek households, they’re fantastic when paired with tea or coffee!

And if you’re not interested in the festivities but want to indulge in Greek food, you’ll still be able to with their drive-thru option.

You can pick up food from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday only. Click here to pre-order.
