Neighborhood on west side of city has experienced ‘incidents of burglary,’ police say

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – A man suspected in multiple incidents of burglaries in Mount Dora has been arrested, according to police.

Dylan Price, 29, was arrested Tuesday. Police released a photo on Friday of a man suspected of being involved in multiple incidents of burglary and prowling in a neighborhood “on the West Side of Mount Dora,” the police department said on social media.

Police said the man was spotted on Hilltop Drive and Crestview Drive Friday around 1 a.m.

Officials told News 6 that the man is suspected of breaking a window at a home on Crestview Drive and was also spotted on a Ring camera at another home in their yard.

“We believe he did break a window in at least one house and may have tried to get in that house he was in someone else’s back yard and then he was on someone else’s front porch,” Detective Gary Hutcheson with Mount Dora Police Department said.

Hutcheson said the department is using Ring camera video from a resident as part of the investigation after that resident reported the man had allegedly taken items from their porch.

Patrick Scanlan told News 6 he’s been living on Hilltop Drive for 24 years and said it’s pretty quiet.

“It’s unsettling without a doubt but this is a very quiet neighborhood and that’s why when something like this happens, it’s news all over the neighborhood,” Scanlan said. “That’s pretty disturbing you know what could happen at that point.”

Price faces charges of armed trespass with a firearm and one count of petit theft.
