ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Ocoee police and Orange County deputies responded after an Ocoee officer opened fire on a vehicle that tried to ram him near the Clarcona Ocoee area, according to the acting police chief.

The incident happened in the area of Doberman Street and High Lake Drive around 10:20 a.m.. That is just south of Hiawassee and Clarcona Ocoee Road in the Pine Hills area.

The Ocoee Police Department said an officer was trying to catch up to a silver or gray colored Infiniti SUV that was speeding along Clarcona Ocoee Road when the car turned down a side street. The officer said he followed the car, which had turned and was driving head-on at the police cruiser, the acting police chief said.

Police said the officer shot at the car, but it was able to get away.

From the ground, News 6 saw at least two evidence markers on Crooked Lane Circle in Pine Hills. From high above, Sky 6, showed the large police activity shortly after 10:30 a.m. That’s when Ocoee police say one of their officers Opened fire towards a car that tried to ram him near the Clarcona Ocoee area.

“I heard three gunshots,” said another neighbor. “It came by real quick and right when police came by so I was like something is going on around here.”

“Right now we don’t have a tag, we don’t have any suspect in this vehicle, all we have is a silver-type vehicle,” said Acting Police Chief Vincent Ogburn. “What we’re asking is if anyone knows anything related to this, or see a vehicle that possibly has bullet holes in it, to give us a call. We want to at least make sure we don’t have anyone injured out there that we don’t know about.”

Police are checking to see if anyone in the neighborhood has a security camera that might help them further identify the vehicle.

Police said it’s not clear if anyone was hurt since the driver took off.

“If anyone knows anything related to this or sees a vehicle that possibly has bullet holes in it to please give us a call,” Chief Ogburn said.

Police are also going through body camera video and asking neighbors for video.
