Baker said that she and her live-in girlfriend — Kirsten Phillips, 23 — got into a fight around 8 p.m. on Wednesday at their apartment located at 303 E. Sutton Circle, according to a news release. Officers said Baker told them that during the fight, she used a knife to defend herself against Phillips.

Investigators said additional officers were then sent to the apartment where Phillips was found unresponsive. Paramedics were called to the scene, but Phillips was pronounced deceased at 1:47 a.m.

Officers said Baker was detained, interviewed and ultimately arrested; however, they have not said what charges she might face.

Anyone with information on this stabbing is asked to call Daytona Beach police at 368-671-5202.

Chief Jakari Young is expected to give an update on the investigation at 3 p.m.
