ORLANDO, Fla. – It won’t be long before Universal Orlando Resort guests can enter Shrek’s swamp.
On Thursday, the theme park announced that it has its sights set on a summer 2024 opening for DreamWorks Land, while also unveiling details of its main attractions based on the franchises “Shrek,” “Trolls” and “Kung Fu Panda.”

‘Trolls’
The family-friendly Trollercoaster features a caterpillar Caterbus. Riders can join Poppy, Tiny, and the twins Satin and Chenille as they try to escape from spooky spiders.
‘Kung Fu Panda’
Skadoosh! At Po Live! guests will meet and talk with Master Po Ping on a digital animated screen. According to Universal, Po will train in the ways of kung fu while babysitting his mischievous baby cousin and cooking some delicious snacks. There will also be plenty of playtime available at the Panda Village at Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp.
‘Shrek’
Guests can meet Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey in his famous home that will feature Shrek’s iconic treetrunk cottage. Kids will also be able to climb, slide, and splash through Shrek’s playground at Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres. “Puss in Boots” will also have representation with Mama Luna Fiesta. At King Harold’s symphony, guests can create their own melodies as they trigger a choir of ever-changing frog rabbits while stomping on interactive lily pads.
Other things being added to DreamWorks Land include a new live show at DreamWorks Imagination Celebration as well as a meet-and-greet at DreamWorks Character Zone. Swamp Snacks and Trolls Treats will be available as dining options and for shopping, fun merch can be found at High Give Hideaway.
DreamWorks Land is taking over the former Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone area, which closed last year.
Universal said the new addition is part of a collection of new entertainment experiences debuting at Universal Orlando Resort in 2024 and is a continuation of Universal’s commitment to rich storytelling.
