Sanford police open administrative investigation into Seminole High SROs

SANFORD, Fla. – Two Sanford police school resource officers have been replaced while the agency investigates a complaint stating that the SROs were displaying affection for one another while on the job.

The Sanford Police Department confirmed to News 6 on Thursday that an investigation is underway.

“We were made aware of a complaint regarding two of our Seminole High School Resource Officers displaying affection towards each other during school hours,” the department said in a statement.

SPD said it has launched an administrative investigation regarding the complaint.

“As the focus on student safety is of the utmost importance, we have put two other SROs in their place as the investigation is conducted to avoid any disruption or distraction,” the police statement said.

Details about the allegations, including the names of the officers, how often the actions took place, the exact location of the public display of affection and whether students observed the activity, have not been released.

News 6 has reached out to Seminole County Public Schools for comment but has not yet heard back.
