VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – After debuting last year in DeLand, Volusia County’s affordable “VoRide” rideshare service is set to reach three more cities in April.
VoRide is coming to DeBary, Deltona and Orange City starting April 8, the county said Friday on social media.

Advertised on its website as “the comfort of a taxi for the price of a bus,” the service entered its pilot phase last December, available six days a week to pick up riders and drop them off at their destination for a flat rate of $2, according to county Transit Planning Manager Ralf Heseler.
“There are no hidden fees. It’s a two-dollar flat rate,” Heseler said. “Curb to curb. Take you wherever you need to go.”

That $2 rate can even come with a 50% discount for young riders ages 7-18, for seniors 65 and older and for disabled riders with valid identification, the website states.
The county encouraged DeBary, Deltona and Orange City residents to download the VoRide smartphone app on the App Store or Google Play for a seamless experience once the service is made available to them next month.
If you can’t download the app, you can still get a ride by calling 386-210-9861 or by going to the website.
