MARION COUNTY, Fla. – UPDATE: The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday afternoon that Kaylee Sheffield, 16, had been located and was safe after being reported missing and endangered as of that morning.
ORIGINAL STORY: A 16-year-old girl has been reported missing out of Marion County and is considered endangered, according to the sheriff’s office.

Kaylee Sheffield was last seen around 2 a.m. Wednesday at her residence in the 3900 block of NE 16th Court near Ocala, where she’s believed to have removed an A/C unit in her room to exit the home and leave on foot in an unknown direction, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Sheffield’s phone was located and “concerning images” were allegedly found on it, prompting the concern for her safety, the release states.
She’s described as 4 feet, 10 inches tall and 100 pounds with brown eyes and red/auburn hair, the sheriff’s office said.
Anyone with knowledge of Sheffield’s whereabouts or other information that would help searchers find her is urged to call 911.
