Fire officials said a 911 caller stated that her home had been struck by lightning and the attic and roof were on fire.

Crews arrived to find the house fully engulfed by fire, with flames shooting through the second floor and roof, officials said.

Several fire stations assisted in battling the blaze, which was extinguished nearly an hour later.

Marion County Fire Rescue said because inclement weather was rolling through the area at the time, the cause of the fire was determined to be a lightning strike.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the family who lost their home.

No other details have been released.
