Hines was born in Miami Beach, but she grew up in Tallahassee.
In 1990, she graduated from UCF with a degree in Radio and Television production.
“It was great because we had cameras and learned to edit, and we were in each other’s projects. So when I wasn’t producing or directing, I was acting in someone else’s project. So, it was really fun and a really great experience,” said Hines.
She said after she graduated, she stayed in Central Florida for a few more years before moving to Los Angeles.
Hines explained how she worked at Universal Studios when it first opened in 1990.
“It was really fun because after I graduated, I got an acting job at Universal, so when I went to get my driver’s license, and they say ‘occupation,’ I got to write actress and I was so proud of myself,” said Hines.
As if her acting career isn’t busy enough, her husband, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is running for President this November as an independent candidate.
“I was just talking about this with my sister, because I was thinking, we were both saying, ‘who would’ve thought growing up in Tallahassee, Florida that one day my husband would be running for president,’ like we did not see this coming,” Hines said.
Hines will be at Magpies Modern General Store on Sunday for a pop-up event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m..
She will be discussing the new business she started with her daughter, Hines+Young. Fans will get a chance to meet her and take pictures.
Before that, you can catch her at UCP of Central Florida’s 31st annual charity gala on Saturday. She’ll be hosting the event with Rachael Harris and RJ Mitte.
