ORLANDO, Fla. – There have been some memorable vehicles throughout the James Bond movie franchise, and some iconic 007 rides just happen to be in the 407.
The Orlando Auto Museum at Dezerland Park is celebrating National Mustang Day, which is Wednesday, by paying tribute to its cherry red Ford Mustang Mach 1, which was featured in “Diamonds Are Forever.”

In the 1971 film, Sean Connery and Bond girl Tiffany Case embark on a thrilling chase in Las Vegas to evade police. As the pair make their escape, the car is led down an alley and narrowly squeezes through by balancing on its two side wheels.

The Mustang Mach 1 is an all-American muscle car with a 429 Cobra Jet engine, which is considered a 7-liter “big block” engine. In the late 1960s, big block engines were fitted to small cars to provide extra horsepower and torque — in this case, a 370 BHP and 450 LB-feet of torque.
The car is just one of hundreds of screen-used vehicles, planes, & memorabilia in the museum’s $100 million James Bond exhibit. The Orlando Auto Museum has more than 2,000 vehicles worth over $200 million, making it the country’s largest auto museum.
