ORLANDO, Fla. – The creators behind “Umrao Jaan Ada” describe the musical play as an immersive experience with a blend of music, dancing, and poetry.
The play is based off the novel by Mirza Hadi Ruswa.

The show tells the story of a woman who is a poet, a dancer, and a musician. It follows her journey being a young woman thrown into unexpected circumstances, as she goes through intensive training from high-class musicians and dancers.

The live performance has impressive sets, and uses the cultural richness of Indian theatre, celebrating artistry and tradition.
The musical is only coming to select cities in the U.S., with Orlando being the second stop.
Other cities on the North American tour include New Jersey, Atlanta, Dallas, Raleigh, Boston, Chicago, Houston, and Washington, D.C..
