ORLANDO, Fla. – There will be plenty of Liams and Olivias in future graduating classes in Florida.
A study conducted by last names database experts at ourpublicrecords.org looked at data from the Social Security Administration on more than 10,000 names given to babies born in 2022 across the United States.

The results revealed that Florida’s most popular male name is Liam, at 1,686 and Olivia is the most popular female name, with 1,183.

The second most popular male and female names are Noah and Isabella, respectively, with 1,438 babies named Noah and 1,051 babies named Isabella.
“These figures offer a fascinating insight into the attitudes of parents when it comes to naming their children in Florida,” said Kushal Tantry, CEO of ourpublicrecords.org. “Whilst names have become more diverse and personalized over the years, reflecting the changing cultural landscape and individual preferences of parents, traditional naming practices still hold significance for many families.”
What’s popular in Florida reflects national trends. Liam is the most popular name for boys at 20,456, and Olivia is the most popular female name at 16,573.
The second most popular male name in the U.S. as a whole is Noah, with 18,621 with that name, and Emma is the second most popular female name, at 14,435.
