Deputies said the suspect fled the scene after the shooting and has not been captured.
On Monday, officials with the Flagler Beach Fire Department said a bullet from the shooting struck the front of Station 11.
“During the shooting one firefighter was inside the apparatus bay when the bullet struck. We are lucky to report no injuries to our firefighters,” a statement from the department read in part.
The on-duty crew at the station was able to see the shooting victim in the street, and despite not knowing if the scene was clear, responded by dragging the man back into the station to provide life saving measures.
Officials ask if anyone has information about the incident, to include cell phone video, to contact the Flagler Beach Police Department, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-800-277-TIPS (1-800-277- 8477).
This case is still an active, ongoing investigation.
