🚪Disney Fort Wilderness cabins are for sale, this guy bought one

Cabins come fully furnished with beds, couches and appliances

CENTRAL FLORIDA, – It’s a Disney souvenir that won’t fit in your pocket. Old Fort Wilderness Resort cabins are being delivered to buyers all over the country, including a Central Florida lakefront lot.

Bob Forster is a retired Disney Cast Member who now owns a piece of Disney history. He just got a 500-square-foot cabin that once housed visitors at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

We first told you last month that hundreds of old cabins were being removed from Disney’s Fort Wilderness to make room for new, updated units.

Many of those old cabins are being sold by companies like Florida Manufactured Home Sales out of Mims. Owner James Morrison personally delivered Forster’s cabin.

“Our phones have completely been ringing off the hook. We’re selling these cabins quicker than we can get ‘em. I can’t tell you where they’re coming from, but it’s obvious,” Morrison said.

The cabins are selling for about $60,000, fully furnished with beds, couches, even appliances. You won’t find any Disney-stamped merchandise inside other than a Joffrey’s coffee packet or two that may have been left behind. The recognizable moose and bear light fixtures are otherwise still sitting in the units.

“We’ve been (delivering cabins) in people’s yards. One couple used them as a schoolhouse for homeschooling. One taking them to North Carolina. They’re really popular for Airbnbs and guest houses,” Morrison said.

Forster doesn’t want us to share exactly where his cabin is, only that it’s now sitting on his lakefront property in Central Florida. He said at first, he thought the listing was a joke until his sister saw News 6′s previous story.

“Online, I thought it was just a scam or something. My sister said she saw it on Channel 6. I called and sure enough, they were selling the Disney cabins,” Forster said.

He said his family has many memories vacationing at Fort Wilderness and plans to use the cabin for family visits and as a rental to make some money.

“They’re in really great shape and it comes with everything and you don’t have to put anything into it once you get it on your lot. I just have to build a deck,” Forster said.

Florida Manufactured Home Sales is selling some of the old Disney Fort Wilderness cabins as they are being cleared from the resort property. They’ll deliver them up to 50 miles from Orlando for $59,900. There is a $1,500 deposit to secure a cabin for delivery as they become available.

You can call 407-568-3227 to inquire about one of the cabins for sale.
