OCOEE, Fla. – An 11-year-old boy shot and killed a 55-year-old woman Friday morning in Ocoee and was taken into custody, police said.
The fatal shooting happened around 7:45 a.m. on Idaho Court, east of State Road 429 and west of Hiawassee Road.
Ocoee police said officers were called to the home and found 55-year-old Sandra Pape King suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to AdventHealth Apopka, where she died, police said.
Police said the woman and the boy lived together and were related but did not disclose their specific relationship.
“There is no threat to the public and no other suspects are being sought,” police said in a statement. “This is an active and ongoing investigation.”
