APOPKA, Fla. – Apopka police have arrested a man who they say is behind armed robberies at two different banks in Orange County.
According to the Apopka Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, detectives developed a lead regarding a possible vehicle used in the robbery at the Fifth Third Bank, located at 1725 S. Orange Blossom Trail on May 20.

Through their investigative efforts, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 45-year-old Taylor Cale Mizelle.

Police were able to obtain a search warrant for Mizelle’s home on Friday and during an interview, police said Mizelle confessed to the Fifth Third Bank robbery on May 20 as well as the Fifth Third Bank robbery on May 8 located at 1495 Rock Springs Road.
Following the May 8 robbery, police released a photo of the suspect reporting that he had entered the bank, walked behind the teller counter, and removed money from an open drawer before running away.
Police also released a photo from the May 20 robbery showing the suspect armed with a handgun and seen wearing a camo-style bucket hat, a navy blue, long-sleeve shirt, gray jogger pants, and black and red gloves.
He was also seen riding off on a bicycle.
Both of the robberies happened during the lunch hour. No injuries were reported in either incident.
Mizelle was booked into the Orange County Jail and made his first court appearance Saturday morning
He’s charged with grand theft and robbery with a firearm and is being held on no bond.
