JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Officers took an alligator into custody at the home of a 104-year-old Florida woman, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office last week.
In a release, the sheriff’s office announced that the nuisance alligator had been spotted at the home near Atlantic Boulevard and Art Museum Drive.
A trapper grabbed the 5-foot-alligator before handing it off to officers, the release shows.
“We can’t cuff him,” one of the officers can be heard saying in released footage of the incident.
The officers then took the alligator to their truck, with the animal’s mouth taped shut and its claws behind its back.
“You are under arrest,” the officer is seen telling the alligator. “You’ve gotta leave the grandmas alone.”
According to the sheriff’s office, the alligator is alive and well, and it’s since been moved to a different location.
