Gas leak prompts road closure, evacuations in Milk District of Orlando

Crews work to cap leak on East Robinson Street

ORLANDO, Fla. – A gas leak has prompted the closure of a busy roadway and the evacuation of two buildings Thursday in the Milk District of Orlando, fire officials said.

The gas leak occurred along East Robinson Street, south of Colonial Drive and west of Orlando Executive Airport.

Orlando fire officials said two nearby buildings have been evacuated.

The public is asked to avoid the area.

Orlando fire posted on X that TECO Gas has been notified of the leak.

#ActiveIncident Crews are on the scene of a #gasleak on the 2400 block of E. Robinson St. #Traffic blocked on Robinson St. Avoid the area for the next hour. 2 buildings in proximity were evacuated. There is a shelter in place for secondary structures,” the post stated.
