MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A fire destroyed a home near Silver Springs Shores early Wednesday, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.

Crews were dispatched around 3:05 a.m. to Juniper Pass Way after multiple 911 callers reported smoke and flames were visible from the porch and garage of the home. Firefighters from at least six stations worked to extinguish the fire, yet an offensive attack gave way to a defensive posture ordered in part due to ammunition going off inside the house, the fire department said on social media.
