WALTON COUNTY, Fla. – A woman and a teenager were injured in separate shark incidents and now a Florida Panhandle County has closed its beaches to the public.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported a woman was injured by a shark around 1:15 p.m. Friday in Watersound, near Watersound Way and Coopersmith Lane.

Then, just after 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office said they had reports that a teenager was injured by a shark in Inlet Beach, in the area of Shoreline Drive.
No word on whether there was more than one shark involved.
The sheriff’s office says the water is now closed to the public as a result. Double red flags are flying at the beaches, and violators could face $500 fines.
