Orlando’s only all-inclusive resort: How to enjoy it for less

Discovery Cove admission includes everything you need for the day

When people look for an all-inclusive experience, they often consider a cruise or a resort in Mexico or the Caribbean.

But you don’t have to travel that far.

There is an all-inclusive experience in the heart of Orlando.

Crystal O’Hea with Discovery Cove calls it, “a little slice of paradise.”

She said people often think of the resort solely as a place to swim with dolphins, but it’s a lot more than that.

“We are all-inclusive, so everything from breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks, beer and wine are included in your day, and then, of course, we have incredible animal encounters,” O’Hea said.

Interacting with and gliding with a dolphin is an incredible experience but if that’s not your thing, you can enjoy several other activities.

“Swimming with fish and rays, feeding exotic birds, seeing the flamingos, we have otters and monkeys, so it’s really a full day of complete discovery,” O’Hea said.

She said unlike traveling abroad for vacation, Discovery Cove visitors can travel light.

“All of your amenities are taken care of, so towels, your wetsuit gear, your snorkel, your mask,” O’Hea pointed out.

How you experience the resort is up to you.

“You can come in and have a full day all-inclusive without a dolphin swim, or you can have the dolphin swim package. Both packages provide you with all the all-inclusive amenities. Snorkeling in the Grand Reef is included, the feeding the birds, these beautiful resort pools, white sand beaches, lounge chairs, so basically once you’re here you’re not really paying for much except souvenirs,” O’Hea explained.

But if you do want to upgrade your experience, you can take advantage of their add-ons.

“You can upgrade and swim with sharks, we have a behind-the-scenes flamingo program, The Flamingo Mingle, we have a program called Seaventure where you put on a snuba helmet and you can walk on the bottom of the reef floor. We have a million-gallon saltwater reef here so you can see that from a totally different perspective. If you are interested in food and drink all day and unlimited open bar we also have a drink package that you can upgrade to,” O’Hea said.

Anybody can get on the website to book tickets and make a reservation, but O’Hea explained since the park is in Florida, there are special discounts for residents.

“Year-round Florida residents save at least 20% on admission to the park, sometimes it’s more than that, the best way to know what kind of Florida Resident deals are going is to go to DiscoveryCove.com and sign up for our emails,” O’Hea said.
