APOPKA, Fla. – Neighbors on Rolling Green Drive near Apopka are staying alert after getting a scary reminder that anyone could be lurking in the night.
Early Monday morning last week, burglars were seen scoping out vehicles in the neighborhood before opening the doors to rummage for anything of value.

One resident, who asked to remain anonymous, shared surveillance video his cameras captured around 4 a.m. of a car driving down the street.
Minutes later, a person can be seen walking between two vehicles in that resident’s driveway. The individual then got inside of a truck.

They can be seen looking around for just under a minute. Soon after, another person comes up to the truck. After shutting the door, what appears to be a gun is revealed in their hand.
The vehicle owner says only a pair of sunglasses were stolen.
Unfortunately, this has happened before.
The man who captured video of the burglars showed News 6 reporter Treasure Roberts surveillance footage from months prior.
He said someone went into his girlfriend’s car and stole $3,000 worth of gift cards.
“I feel bad for them. I mean, when you get violated by someone stealing from you, that’s a bizarre feeling,” said Jeff Littlewood, who lives in the neighborhood.
Littlewood lives on the same block and wasn’t affected, but he still plans to be proactive.
“(I’ll) probably invest in cameras,” Littlewood said.
To deter people from breaking into your car, take out visible and valuable items like your laptop or air pods and — most importantly — make sure your doors are locked.
Neighbors in that community hope police find the people responsible before they come back and potentially hurt someone next time.
“I definitely have concerns now,” Littlewood said.
