ORLANDO, Fla. – Tickets are already on sale for a soon-to-launch selection of nonstop JetBlue flights between Long Island and three Florida cities, including Orlando.

JetBlue announced Tuesday it was reinforcing “its role as New York’s Hometown Airline” by offering direct flights from Long Island MacArthur Airport to Orlando International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport starting in October.

To celebrate the announcement, one-way fares for the new routes would be offered at $49 for a limited time if purchased through JetBlue’s website, according to the airline.

The airline’s announcement follows another from March concerning 16 routes that JetBlue planned to cut starting in June to reduce costs and delays. Orlando’s route to Salt Lake City, Utah, was on that list. It was a decision made just weeks after JetBlue and Spirit ended their $3.8 billion merger plan as the Biden administration’s Justice Department sued to prevent them from combining, arguing the move would lower competition and hike fares.
