OCALA, Fla. – Silver Glen Springs was discovered with “unsafe levels” of fecal matter in the water, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
In a release, USFS officials on Friday explained that the Florida Department of Health uncovered these findings, prompting action by the USFS.

As a result, swimming activities at the springs have been temporarily suspended, the release states.
“Further testing will be conducted on Monday to assess the situation and determine when it’s safe for swimming to resume,” the release reads.
