ORLANDO, Fla. – A new art installation in downtown Orlando has been completed in time for Pride month.
“I love it, it’s welcoming. You are welcome here, and I love it. I thought immediately it’s for Pride month as a show of support,” said resident Manderlay Groomes.
The art display, titled ‘No Place Like Home,’ is located downtown at the corner of East Pine and North Orange. It stands 40 feet by 20 feet.
“First, it caught my eye because it’s huge and massive and bright colors. Then, I heard the music, too. It’s beautiful. I really like all of the lights, and I’ve never seen anything like this in downtown before,” Groomes said.

Cole NeSmith, founder and artistic director of Creative City Project, said it’s important to have art downtown.
“This sculpture is all about bringing life and joy and color to our city in downtown Orlando,” NeSmith said. “I think artists have the ability to transform communities for the better. I think this is a great example of that.”
Barbara Hartley, executive director for the Downtown Arts District, said it’s important for groups to work together to transform downtown.
“It’s like a dream. Orlando is coming to life through art,” Hartley said. “We want to make sure our creatives are engaged. It’s such a vibrant town, so this kind of speaks to where Orlando is as a community.”
The art installation will stay in place until at least through July.
