Red Hot & Boom heads back to Altamonte Springs. Here’s what to expect

Free performances from 5 bands will lead into fireworks show

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Rain or shine, Red Hot & Boom is back in Altamonte Springs to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Over 150,000 people are expected to attend the big event on Wednesday, July 3, at Cranes Roost Park.

In addition to the big 25-minute fireworks show, there will be live music from five bands: Blue Stone Circle, No Lonely Hearts, Relic, Voodoo Moonshine and The Intracoastals.

The performances will start at 5 p.m.. leading up to the 9:30 p.m. display, when more than 14,000 fireworks will “ignite the night.”

Road closures

Roads in and around the park can close as early as Tuesday, July 2, for the event.

The following roads will be closed on Tuesday:

  • Cranes Roost Boulevard will close at 10 a.m. between Uptown Boulevard and Festival Drive.
  • Uptown Boulevard is closed to thru traffic starting at 2 p.m.
  • Cranes Roost Boulevard will close at 2 p.m. between Shorecrest Drive and Festival Drive.

These roads will be closed on Wednesday, the day of the event:

  • The rear entrance to the Altamonte Mall on Festival Drive closes at 7 a.m.
  • CenterPointe Circle closes at 7 a.m.
  • Festival Drive will close at 7 a.m. between the Altamonte Mall Loop Road and Central Parkway.
  • Cranes Roost Boulevard is closed at S.R. 436 starting at 6:30 p.m.

Permitted and prohibited items

Here’s what you’re allowed to bring:

  • Pop-up tents/canopies – maximum size 10 feet by 10 feet with no sides. Tents/canopies in the amphitheater must be taken down by 5 p.m. All others must be taken down at sundown.
  • Blankets or tarps no bigger than 10 feet by 10 feet.
  • Folding chairs or beach chairs.
  • Personal soft-sided coolers that can be carried in by a shoulder strap or single handle.
    • *Note: All packages, soft side coolers, backpacks, etc. are subject to inspection.

And here’s what you’re not allowed to bring into the event:

  • Drones
  • Alcohol/Drugs
  • Glass
  • Coolers over 2 feet by 2 feet
  • Coolers on wheels
  • Unauthorized weapons, sharp objects or personal fireworks
  • Grills, propane tanks or open flames
  • Pets (NO pets are permitted in Cranes Roost Park starting at 7 a.m. on July 3)
