Florida gas prices have rebounded after sinking to a multi-month low, ending a 26-day streak of declines, according to the AAA Auto Club Group.
AAA said the state average price of fuel rose 15 cents last week but declined two pennies over the weekend. This caused Sunday’s state average to be $3.35 per gallon, 10 cents more than a week ago.

Officials said this price increase can be attributed to the rising price of crude oil, as the U.S. price was back above $80 a barrel. This is 7% more expensive than two weeks ago.
“Oil and gasoline futures prices rose the past two consecutive weeks, which raised the cost of producing gasoline,” Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA, said in a news release. “Futures prices reportedly increased on data that fuel demand is outpacing fuel inventories. Price fluctuations like this are very common during the summer travel season.”
The lowest metro market gas prices still remain in Crestview-Fort Walton Beach ($3.11), Pensacola ($3.11) and Panama City ($3.11), with the highest being in West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($3.53), Gainesville ($3.41) and Naples ($3.41).

Ways to save on gasoline, according to AAA:
- Combine errands to limit driving time.
- Shop around for the best gas prices in your community.
- Pay with cash. Some retailers charge extra per gallon for customers who pay with a credit card.
- Remove excess weight in your vehicle. Every 100 pounds taken out of the vehicle improves fuel economy by 1-2%.
- Drive conservatively. Aggressive acceleration and speeding reduce fuel economy.
