According to an arrest affidavit, deputies spoke to a victim who said that while driving north on U.S. 27, they reduced their speed due to heavy rainfall, which is when a silver Kia Optima swerved around them at a high rate of speed before cutting in front of them.

The victim told deputies that the Kia began driving aggressively “attempting to to stop the victims from driving past the Optima to include coming to a complete stop” on U.S. 27.

Deputies said the driver of the Kia, later identified as James Box, would speed up again and throw objects at the victim’s vehicle while screaming at them.

According to the affidavit, the victim pulled over near Plantation Boulevard and U.S. 27 to record the license plate and vehicle info of Box’s Kia. At that time, Box stopped further ahead and exited his vehicle.

Deputies said the victims put their vehicle in reverse as Box charged toward their car.

According to the affidavit, Box pulled down his shorts to his knees and grabbed his genitals with both hands “shaking them towards the victims.”

The victims told deputies that they screamed and looked away in fear when Box exposed himself.

Deputies said the incident happened on the busy highway in peak traffic hours with multiple other vehicles driving past.

The victims were able to provide deputies with photos of the license plate of the Kia as well as of Box charging toward their vehicle.

According to the affidavit, when deputies responded to the home where the Kia was registered, they saw Box who was wearing the same outfit the victim described and showed in photographs.

Deputies said Box denied being involved in a road rage incident and told them “they must be confused.”

Due to the statements provided by the victims, Box was arrested. Deputies said he faces a charge of exposure of sexual organs.
