Blake Robinson, 29, faces felony charges

Blake Robinson, 29 (Brevard County Sheriff's Office)

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A would-be burglar in Brevard County who attacked a 66-year-old man after trying to get into his truck was soon found bloodied and on the ground, according to the sheriff’s office.

Blake Robinson, 29, faces charges of battery on a person 65 or older and attempted burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, records show.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim told deputies that he stepped outside to investigate a noise early Thursday when he saw Robinson pulling on the door handles of his pickup truck. The victim went back inside to call law enforcement, yet he reemerged and confronted Robinson when he couldn’t find his phone, the affidavit states.

Robinson began punching the victim and threw him to the ground, where he went on to kick the victim in the head, investigators said. However, the victim was able to strike Robinson in self-defense and get away, according to the affidavit.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey posted about the incident on social media, addressing Robinson as “Mr. Tough Guy” and describing the victim’s injuries as nothing serious.

Deputies arrived on scene and were able to quickly detain Robinson, who was seemingly having a tough time getting up off of the ground, after getting his butt whipped by a 66 year old man!! That’s right Mr. Tough Guy, Robinson, got manhandled by a 66 year old man who thankfully only required brief medical treatment and was left without any serious injuries!!

Deputies responding to the scene — in the 8800 block of U.S. Highway 1 in Micco — observed Robinson lying on the ground with blood around his mouth, the report states, noting the victim’s face was swollen and his right ear was covered in blood.

Robinson was booked later that morning and is being held on $30,000 bond, records show.
