Leekham Bryan convicted for murder of Trevor Morrison

A man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after killing another man in Longwood and dumping the body in the Banana River.

Leekhan Bryan was convicted Friday on a first-degree murder charge for the death of Trevor Morrison, according to a news release from Longwood police. He was also found guilty on charges of kidnapping, armed battery, grand theft and tampering with physical evidence.

The jury recommended a sentence of life in prison without parole, despite acknowledging aggravated conditions that could have warranted the death penalty, according to the news release.

Bryan killed 62-year-old Morrison back in 2021. He was arrested after the victim was reported missing, and investigators found his body dumped in Banana River on Merritt Island.

Officials stated that Bryan, an acquaintance of Morrison, was found driving his vehicle, after killing him in Longwood and transporting him to Brevard County in an attempt to cover up the crime.
