Woman accused in stabbing at Orlando homelessness services center

Simarria Thomas, 22, held on no bond

Simarria Thomas, 22 (Orlando Police Department)

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman arrested Thursday by Orlando police is accused of stabbing another woman at the Christian Service Center on West Central Boulevard.

Simarria Thomas, 22, faces charges of battery and aggravated battery with a weapon causing great bodily harm, booking records show.

Thomas’ arrest affidavit includes witness statements that allege she was seen attacking the victim before being grabbed and pulled away from the fight by a bystander, only to leave and return with a knife that she used to stab the victim in the upper neck and right upper shoulder before walking to the front of the nonprofit and entering a car that drove away.

The victim told police that the injury to her neck was only a small cut, but the wound in her shoulder required stiches, according to the affidavit.

Police eventually made contact with Thomas, who told officers that she and the victim had gotten into a physical fight and that she was upset because her boyfriend was “holding her down” and letting the other woman attack her.

Thomas is being held on no bond at the Orange County Jail.
