Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas, world’s 2nd-largest cruise ship, sails into Port Canaveral

Cruise ship makes debut July 19

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. – The world’s second-largest cruise ship arrived Thursday morning at Port Canaveral.

Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas can hold more than 5,000 passengers and has more than 40 dining experiences, 23 bars, five swimming pools and two casinos.

Some new additions to the ship include a Caribbean tiki bar, a “first-of-its-kind immersive dining experience,” the longest dry slide at sea and newly-designed resort-style pools.

Utopia of the Seas will set sail for Perfect Day at CocoCay from Port Canaveral.

“Stopping in Nassau, stopping in Perfect Day at CocoCay is a home run,” Jay Schneider said.

The cruise ship is the first of its kind to debut three-night weekend and four-night weekday trips, according to Royal Caribbean.

Most recently, Royal Caribbean named singer Meghan Trainor as godmother of the cruise ship.

It is set to officially debut on July 19.
