HELP WANTED: Volusia schools hiring for instructional, support positions

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Volusia County Schools says it has dozens of part-time and full-time positions it’s looking to fill at a hiring event on Monday.

The school district’s second summer hiring event is set for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 22 at Mainland High School. Its first job fair took place Tuesday at Spirit Elementary School.

News 6 contacted the district, which told us it had 98 instructional openings as of Thursday.

Sixty-seven of the openings are for classroom positions, down from roughly 128 open classroom positions and 136 non-classroom vacancies from the same time last year, the district said. There are also 13 open bus driver positions, according to Volusia County Schools.
