The FHP said a Winter Springs man, later identified as 21-year-old Zachary Kreusch, was driving a 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster west on Brumley Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. The car went off the road and into a ditch before hitting a tree and flipping multiple times.

Kreusch was able to escape the car before it became engulfed in flames, according to an FHP crash report. His passenger, identified as 20-year-old Dylan Astacio, was trapped inside and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

According to an arrest report, the Porsche traveled 95 feet before the driver overcorrected and re-entered the roadway. It then traveled another 100 feet before exiting the road to the left, where it traveled 152 feet in the ditch on the southern shoulder of Brumley Road. The right side of the vehicle stuck a tree before it crashed into a fence and continued in a southwesterly direction before overturning. It came to a final rest on its right side, about 89 feet from the area where it struck the tree.

After the crash, the Porsche became fully engulfed in flames, troopers said.

“I was driving my mom’s new car and my friend wanted to see how fast it could go,” Kreusch told 911 operators on the phone at the time of the crash, according to the report. “I think I just killed my friend.”

Troopers said that based on their investigation and Kreusch’s statement, they determined that he caused the crash resulting in Astacio’s death.

On Tuesday, troopers announced that Kreusch was arrested and booked into the Seminole County jail on charges on vehicular homicide.
