Precautionary boil water notice issued for parts of Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Marion County has issued a precautionary boil water notice for some customers being served by Marion county utilities, according to a news release.

Due to a water main repair, the water was shut off at around noon on Tuesday, but is expected to be turned back on as soon as the repair are made around 3 p.m.. officials said.

The boil water notice includes all Marion County Utilities Customers in the Rainbow Lakes Estates Subdivision on the following Streets:

  • Rainbow Lakes Blvd
  • SW 195th Ave.
  • SW 196th Ave.
  • 19613 SW 50th Place 19552
  • 19551 SW 56th Lane
  • 5420, 5500, 5476, 5388, 4840, 4880, 4750, 4740 U.S. Highway 41

All people in affected areas are being advised to bring water intended for consumption to a boil for at least one minute until this notice is lifted.

Utilities will perform water testing per regulations from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and will let the affected areas know via email once the notice is lifted.

Utilities provides the results of the annual inspections as determined  by  the Florida Department of Environmental protection on their website under the “My Water” tab.
