Kids get into Central Florida Zoo in Sanford free ahead of school starting up

School begins on Aug. 12 for most Central Florida districts

SANFORD, Fla. – There’s only 14 days left in summer vacation before school comes along to end it.

So for parents looking for one more kids’ outing, Central Florida Zoo is offering free tickets.

Now through Aug. 31, one child 12 years old or younger can get into the zoo in Sanford for free with the purchase of an adult ticket. The tickets are only available at the gate and can’t be purchased online.

The offer is only valid for daytime general admission tickets and does not apply to events like Sunset at the Zoo and can’t be used with other discounts or promotions. Tickets at the ticket booth are normally $17.95 for children ages 3-12 during non-peak days and $19.95 on peak days like weekends.

Admission for adults at the ticket booth is $23.95 on non-peak days and $25.95 on peak days.

The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and parking is free.

School begins on Aug. 12 in Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, and Volusia counties.

Sumter County starts school on Aug. 14.
