ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida students will be heading back to the classroom the week of Aug. 12. Some of those students will be walking the halls of brand new campuses.
Here’s a county-by-county look at the new schools opening for the 2024-25 school year and which counties can look forward to new schools opening in 2025.

Brevard County
Viera Middle School
A state-of-the-art facility is located on Stadium Parkway, just north of Viera High School. When it opens on Aug. 12, both seventh-grade and eighth-grade students will attend for the 2024-25 school year, with student population capping out at 900 students in any given year. The school mascot is an owl.
Orange County
Atwater Bay Elementary School
The school is located along Atwater Bay Drive in Winter Garden in the Horizon West area. The school can hold 841 students. The mascot is a stingray.
Luminary Middle School
The school is located in the Lake Nona area along Luminary Boulevard. The new school can hold 1,215 students. The school mascot is a wolf.
Innovation High School
The school is located on Dowden Road in the Innovation Way corridor in Lake Nona. The school can hold 3,268 students. The school mascot is a bull.
Osceola County
Voyager K-8
The school is located along Voyager Avenue in the new Sunbridge community in St. Cloud. The Osceola County School District asked the community to cast their vote for the school name. The school board approved the school name of Voyager K8 Home of the Wolves (wolf pups for the elementary students). The school colors are navy blue and gray with an orange accent.
Knights Point K-8
The school is located along Golden Knight Boulevard in Kissimmee. The mascot is a Golden Knight.
Volusia County
Turie T. Small Elementary School
The school is located at 839 Loomis Ave. in Daytona Beach. Crews first broke ground on the state-of-the-art campus in April 2023. The school is named after Turie T. Small, the principal of South Street School, which was renamed to honor Small in 1960. Small spent over 50 years in education serving Daytona Beach students. The elementary school was completely rebuilt on a vacant property north of the currently elementary school and east of Campbell Middle School in Daytona Beach.
Tomoka Elementary School
The school originally opened in 1968 and was rebuilt at its current location in Ormond Beach at 999 Old Tomoka Road. During the construction project, students were relocated to the former Osceola Elementary campus. The design of the new school is inspired by Tomoka State Park and the surrounding neighborhood. The capacity of the school, which had 734 students at the end of the 2022-23 school year will increase to 836 student station.
Lake County
New K-8 school will be opening in Minneola in 2025.
Marion County
Marion County Public Schools broke ground on two new elementary schools in March. New Elementary School “W” is being built in Marion Oaks community. The New Elementary School “X” is being built in the Winding Oaks community.
Both schools are scheduled to open in August 2025.
