Woman stabbed to death in apparent domestic violence case outside Bunnell home

Officers investigate death in 400 block of South Pine Street

Jermaine Williams Sr. (Bunnell Police Department)

BUNNELL, Fla. – A Bunnell man is facing murder charges after witnesses say he stabbed his wife to death outside their home Friday morning, according to police.

Bunnell officers, along with Flagler County deputies and firefighters, responded at 8:14 a.m. to an address in the 400 block of South Pine Street, where a resident had called 911 to report their relative, later identified as 50-year-old Yolonda Williams, was being stabbed, the Bunnell Police Department said in a news release.

First responders located the victim in the driveway and the alleged suspect, her husband, 52-year-old Jermaine Williams Sr. nearby.

The victim was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead, police said.

Witnesses told police they heard the victim screaming for help and saw the victim on the ground. Police also say Jermaine Williams’ father saw the suspect stab Yolonda Williams several times, and yelled out for him to stop or he would shoot him.

According to the news release, Williams said in a police interview that he and his wife had been fighting for weeks and he was sleeping in his truck in the driveway. Williams said on Friday morning he told Yolonda he didn’t want to live like that and wanted to get back together. He told police that Yolonda didn’t respond and walked out to go back to work, and when her car wouldn’t start, she refused his help.

Williams told police that she made a remark that pushed him over the edge, and claimed he got a knife from a kitchen drawer and “blacked out.”

Police say Williams had had a history of domestic violence involving his wife.

Williams was arrested and is being held without bond in the Flagler County jail on a charge of first-degree premeditated murder.
