GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida canceled classes on Monday due to Tropical Storm Debby.
Debby continued to make its way through the Gulf on Sunday, expected to rapidly strengthen into a hurricane before making landfall in the Florida Big Bend Region on Monday.

The university said the campus will be closed on Monday and in addition to classes, academic and student-related activities, online classes and exams were also canceled.
There will be an update Monday from the university with the plan to resume classes and normal campus operations.
Debby is expected to move slowly across northern Florida and southern Georgia Monday and Tuesday.
