Palm Coast homeowner escapes house fire that collapsed roof

Units respond to area of Burning Ember Lane

PALM COAST, Fla. – A fire Tuesday in Palm Coast caused a home’s roof to collapse, yet it resulted in no injuries, according to firefighters.

The Palm Coast Fire Department responded around noon to the area of Burning Ember Lane, where units arrived to see flames and heavy smoke through the structure’s rear and roof, as well as smoke pushing out from the eaves of the home.

Photos shared by the fire department show firefighters’ approach and attack, dousing the burning home with water until it was left a set of steaming brick walls with its roof charred and caved in.

The homeowner was able to safely self evacuate, the fire department said on social media, adding no injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.
